Glasgow synthetic vascular access graft course

The Glasgow Vascular / Transplant Unit is running a synthetic vascular access graft course, February 21st and 22nd at Glasgow University.

The course consists of a mixture of lectures and practical sessions in the cadaver lab. The practical sessions are specifically for the consultant candidates, who will be the primary surgeon, but they need a registrar assistant, who will be closely involved with all the procedures. The course participants are largely consultants from hospitals in Europe, so it potentially makes for an excellent networking event.

There will be a trainee only section on the afternoon of the 22nd for trainee’s to perform some lower extremity exposures and procedures. So if trainees wish to gain more confidence exposing tibial vessels or doing fasciotomies, then this is perfect occasion.
Our intention is to deliver some specific teaching around this session on the evening before the course, provided there is sufficient uptake. The point of contact for interested trainees is myself, Jonathan Morrison (ST-8 West of Scotland), e-mail:
